My beautiful bride Mimi Harrington Reid.  We went for a clean, romantic look with loads of lashes and a purple undertone to her eyeliner to make her eyes pop.

Check out more photos from the wedding including pictures of the bridal party whom I also did makeup on

I went to see Wicked at the Kennedy Center last night which featured Dee Roscioli as Elphaba.  Today, inspired by her amazing performance last night, I started YouTube-ing a bit and found this great video which features her tricks and tips for getting into that green makeup.  Enjoy!

Here are two shots from a wedding I did makeup for recently.  She wanted a little drama but still classic, clean beauty.

Congratulations Stephanie and David!!!!

Day Three of the ArbonneMakeup Trial!
Today’s look tested this vegan-approved makeup’s ability to do a fun, colorful and playful look
Here is what I used from their line to achieve this look —
-Makeup Primer all over Face (feels like the Smashbox primer without the silicone!)
-Creme Concealer in Light and Medium
-Perfecting Liquid Foundation in Golden Beige (SPF 15) on outside of face, Buff (SPF 15) on inside of face
-Sheer Glow Highlighter (cheekbones, nose, above brow, cupid’s bow, chin)
-Natural Radiance Mineral Powder in Light (SPF 15)
-Bronzer to contour
-Blush in Blossom
-Eyeshadow - Lilac (all over), Divine Plumb (crease and outside of eye)
-Eyeliner - Eyeliner in Plumb and Ebony
-Triple Action Mascara
-Lips - Liner in Ginger, Lipstick in Candy, Lip Polish in Posh
I have to give all of these great cosmetics back this evening, but I think there will me much more where this came from.

Day Two of the Arbonne Makeup Trial!
Today’s look tested this vegan-approved makeup’s ability to do a more glam/Red Carpet look.
Here is what I used from their line to achieve this look —

-Sheer Glow Highlighter (cheekbones, nose, above brow, cupid’s bow, chin)
-Natural Radiance Mineral Powder in Light (SPF 15)
-Bronzer to contour
-Blush in Berry
-Eyeshadow - Linen (all over), Sand (crease), Moss (outside of eye blend)
-Eyeliner - Liquid Eye Liner in Black, Eyeliner in Ebony (lower water line 3/4)
-Triple Action Mascara
-Lips - Liner in Cherry, Lipstick in Strawberry
I absolutely LOVE this lip color and its staying power thus far.  Also, the liquid liner was very easy to apply with the felt applicator that is part of the packaging and it did not have any scent to it which is a great thing for sensitive eyes.

Last night I met with two lovely ladies from Arbonne, a green and vegan-approved cosmetics and skincare company.  We talked about their makeup line and they let me take their makeup case for a test drive to see if it is a product that I would be interested in representing.
So… here goes :-)
This morning I went for a very natural look, just wanted to see how the makeup felt and looked on my skin. I used:
-Makeup Primer all over face
-Creme Concealer in Light and Medium (highlighting and contouring)
-Perfecting Liquid Foundation in Buff (SPF 15)
-Natural Radiance Mineral Powder in Light (SPF 15)
-Bronzer
-Blush in Ballet
-Creme Concealer in Light on eyelid used as an eyeshadow primer
-Eyeshadow - Vanilla (highlight), Smoke (lid), Indigo (crease)
-Eyeliner - Charcoal
-Triple Action Mascara
-Lip Liner in Ginger
-Lipstick in Vintage Rose
-Lip Polish in Posh
All in all I really like this makeup.  If feels light on my skin and the concealers are really rich while not being cakey.  I am going to keep playing with these cosmetics until Friday :-)

Friday How To - 2 Minute Smoky Eye
The weekend is upon us and what would be better than a quick, sexy, smoky eye for a night out on the town?!
Here is how I did it -
Step 1 - apply a primer to your lid, I recommended Urban Decay’s Eye Potion in Edan, or you can use your favorite concealer (THINLY)
Step 2 - apply a black kohl liner to your lower water line and a thin line on your upper lash line, I recommend MAC Smoulder
Step 3 - use your finger (or a brush) to smudge out the liner on your upper lid - dabbing and pulling the liner up and to the outside of your lid.  Use your finger along your lower lash line as well, smudging slightly (cleanup under eye if needed)
Step 4 - use your designated lighter powder all over your lid to blend with the dark eyeliner and create the smoky dimension. In this look I used VEX by MAC.
Step 5 - Apply mascara and you are out the door!!!!
